East Dallas man killed while chasing the thieves who stole

An East Dallas family is mourning the loss of a son who was shot and killed while chasing the thieves who stole his father’s truck.

Dallas police say 24-year-old Marco Ramirez was fatally shot near 5300 Parry Avenue yesterday. Investigators say Ramirez was following thieves who had stolen his father’s truck when he was shot.

“My brother was somebody so caring, so loving, he was never selfish, never selfish,” Carla Ramirez told NBC 5. “He always looked out for everybody.”

Dallas police say they have recovered the family’s stolen truck and are now investigating Ramirez’s death as a homicide.

Police are asking anyone who knows anything about this incident to come forward and speak with detectives.
